1. Collection and Use of Personal Data
You may visit our website without providing any personal information. We only store technical access and log data such as:
- the name of your internet service provider,
- date and time of the request,
- name of the requested file,
- website from which the file was requested,
- access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.),
- web browser and operating system used,
- full IP address of the requesting computer, and
- volume of data transmitted.
This data is used exclusively to improve our offering and for technical security purposes, in particular to defend against attacks on our web server. The data is not processed for the purpose of identifying you.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest). If, in individual cases, it becomes necessary to identify you in the context of network or information security, this is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with Recital 49 GDPR.
2. Contact Form and Email
Personal data (such as name, company, address, telephone number, and email address) is only collected if you voluntarily provide it to us as part of an inquiry via contact form or email.
We use the data you provide without separate consent exclusively to process and handle your request based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) for appropriate communication with you.
Once your request has been fully processed, your data will be blocked for further use and deleted (if applicable, after expiration of statutory retention periods under commercial and tax law, currently ten years), unless you have expressly consented to further use of your data.
Your data provided via a contact form will not be used for any other purposes, in particular not for advertising.
3. Use of cookies and browser memory
We use cookies and other browser storage technologies on various pages to make visiting our website more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions.
These are small amounts of data stored on the user's device, which can be retrieved when the website is revisited to facilitate navigation, transactions, or to collect information about user behavior.
Most cookies and browser storage data used by us are deleted after the end of the browser session (so-called session cookies).
Other cookies remain on your device and enable us to recognize your device on your next visit (persistent cookies), for example to avoid re-entering data in forms.
The legal basis for cookies and browser storage that are strictly necessary to provide you with the expressly requested service is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) in conjunction with Section 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG.
Any use of cookies or browser storage that is not technically necessary constitutes data processing that is only permitted with your explicit consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG. This applies in particular to performance, advertising, targeting, or sharing cookies.
We only share personal data processed via cookies with third parties if you have given explicit consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

4. Newsletter
We use email marketing to inform you about news from the world of packaging and about MULTIVAC. Your data and usage behavior are stored electronically and analyzed to improve customer service.
This data is not shared with third parties. However, MULTIVAC uses processors for sending emails.
By subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to the processing of your personal data (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). We use the double opt-in procedure to verify your subscription.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing via the link in each newsletter email, by email to muwo(at)multivac.de, or by contacting us.
We analyze user behavior in newsletter campaigns using web beacons (tracking pixels). These are linked to your email address and an individual ID. The data is collected in a pseudonymized form and not directly linked to other personal data.
5. (In-house) Applications and MULTIVAC Events
We process your personal data (e.g., name, employer details, business contact data) for the purpose of registering and organizing your participation in in-house events, conducting the event, and communication before and after the event.
Follow-up communication (e.g., reports or offers) will only take place if you have expressly consented or if a legal basis under Section 7(3) UWG exists.
For applications, your data is processed based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and Section 26 BDSG. If no employment relationship is established, your data will be deleted no later than six months after completion of the application process.
For event execution, your data may be shared with event partners Handtmann and TVI. These partners process the data solely for event-related purposes.
Data may also be shared with media and social media platforms for reporting purposes.
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Marketing-related follow-up is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) or Section 7(3) UWG.
Notice on Photo and Video Recordings at Events
Please note that photo and video recordings may be made during MULTIVAC events. These recordings may be used for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes, including publication in print media, on websites, and on social media platforms operated by MULTIVAC and its partners.
In accordance with Article 13 GDPR, mandatory information regarding such recordings will also be provided on-site at the event location (e.g., via visible notices at the entrance to the event premises), regardless of whether participants have already taken note of this privacy notice.
The processing of such recordings is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in documenting and promoting events) or, where applicable, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).
6. Your rights
- Right of access: You have the right to obtain information about your stored personal data.
- Right to object: You may object at any time to the processing of your data (Article 21 GDPR), particularly for direct marketing purposes.
- Right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Additional rights: You have the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
